Blssd Vybz is a Catholic Digital Sanctuary built to bridge digital engagement with real-world sacramental and parish life, helping Christians to grow deeper in Christ and His Church. At Blssd Vybz, we value your trust and are committed to safeguarding your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our application (delivered as a Progressive Web App and as native Android and iOS apps).
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information:
- Personal details you provide (e.g., name, email, profile info).
- Your date of birth / age, which we ask for at sign-up so we can apply our minimum-age and minors rules (see Section 6).
- Agreement records — which version of the Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy you accepted, and when.
- Spiritual journaling entries, prayers, or reflections you voluntarily record.
- Usage data such as device type, browser, and app interactions.
- Community and content contributions (e.g., posts on the Gratitude Wall and Prayer Wall, Faith Talk, comments, short-form "Vybz" videos, and live streams).
2. How We Use Your Information
Your data helps us to:
- Provide core app features (journaling, AI companion, content library, community hub, short-form video, live streaming).
- Personalize your spiritual experience, including ranking and recommending content.
- Apply our minimum-age requirement and the restrictions that apply to users aged 16 and 17.
- Keep the app safe and secure, including detecting spam, abuse, and content that endangers minors.
- Improve the app through analytics and feedback.
- Send optional reminders, reflections, or community updates (with your consent).
3. Data Storage & Security
We implement industry-standard practices to protect your data. Journals are private by default unless you choose to share them. While we take strong security measures, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We only share data when required by law or when enabling core services (such as Firebase hosting, content-delivery and media-streaming providers, and AI companion integrations) under strict privacy agreements. Separately from this, content you choose to publish is shown to other users and distributed as described in Section 5.
5. How Content You Publish Is Shared and Distributed
When you post to a public area of the app — for example the Vybz feed, the Prayer Wall, the Gratitude Wall, Faith Talk, comments, or a public live stream — that content, together with your username, display name, and profile photo, is made available to other users and, where the area is public, to visitors. In the course of delivering the app, that content:
- is delivered and cached through content-delivery networks and our streaming and storage providers;
- may be resurfaced by recommendation and "For You" feeds, and found through hashtags and search;
- may be saved, reshared, or embedded by other users; and
- may be featured by Blssd Vybz to promote the app — in in-app placements, on our social-media accounts, in app-store listings, and in advertising for the app.
If you delete public content, or we remove it, copies may remain for a limited time in routine backups (see our Data Retention practices), and copies that other users already saved or reshared remain with them. Private content — journal entries, entries you lock, drafts, and direct messages — is never published by us or used to promote the app. The licence you grant us for public content is set out in Section 9 of the Terms of Service.
6. Minors
Minimum age. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or use Blssd Vybz. The app is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If we learn that an account holder is under 16, we disable the account and delete the associated personal data within a reasonable period, except anything we must keep by law.
Users aged 16 and 17. Users who are 16 or 17 can use the app's core spiritual and community features, but cannot use creator monetisation or payouts and cannot broadcast their own live stream. Direct messaging and how discoverable a 16- or 17-year-old's profile and posts are may also be limited or off by default. Users aged 16 and 17 should use the app with the knowledge and permission of a parent or legal guardian.
Parents and guardians. A parent or legal guardian can ask us to review, receive a copy of, correct, or delete a 16- or 17-year-old's personal data, or close the account, by emailing childsafety@blssdvybz.com. We act on verified requests within a reasonable time.
Legal basis. Blssd Vybz is operated from the Republic of Uganda, and we handle personal data in line with the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019. Where the consent of a parent or legal guardian is required for a person under 18, we rely on that parent or guardian having reviewed and agreed to the Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy on the young person's behalf, together with continued use of the app. That consent can be withdrawn at any time by closing the account or contacting us.
No profiling for ads. We do not use the personal data of users we know to be under 18 for behavioural or targeted advertising.
Child safety. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. Such content is removed, the accounts involved are terminated, and reports are made to the appropriate authorities. You can report concerns through the in-app tools or to childsafety@blssdvybz.com.
7. AI and Your Content
When you ask the Companion to respond to a message, prompt, or journal entry, we send that text to our AI provider to generate the response, and the exchange is stored in your journaling space. We do not use your private content — journal entries, locked entries, drafts, or direct messages — to train, fine-tune, or develop generative AI models. We may use content you post publicly to operate and improve app features such as feed ranking, recommendations, search, and spam and safety detection, but not to train generative AI models offered as a separate product or licensed to third parties.
8. Your Choices & Controls
- You can update your profile information at any time in the app.
- You can download a copy of your data, or request deletion of your account and associated data, using the "Download your data" / "Delete your account" links in Settings. Account deletion takes effect 30 days after your request, during which you can cancel it; after that period, deletion is permanent. If you have trouble using these controls, email feedback@blssdvybz.com and we will process your request manually.
- You can disable notifications in your device or app settings.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as needed. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or via email notifications, and the "Last Updated" date above will change.
